The Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 Macro GM is the first true macro lens in Sony's G Master lineup, designed to deliver exceptional image quality, smooth bokeh, and precise control for close-up photography.

With its 100mm focal length and 1.4:1 macro reproduction ratio, this lens is ideal for product photography, fine details, insects, jewelry, food, and creative close-ups, while also serving as a capable medium-telephoto prime for portraits and general photography.

Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization supports handheld shooting in the studio or on location, especially when working at close focusing distances where small camera movements become more noticeable.

The lens offers a maximum 1.4x magnification ratio, allowing tiny subjects to be captured larger than life. This makes it highly useful for photographing small products, jewelry, insects, textures, and fine details.

The minimum focus distance is 10.2" / 26 cm from the camera sensor, with an approximate 3.5" working distance at maximum magnification.

The lens uses an advanced optical construction of 17 elements in 13 groups, including two XA eXtreme Aspherical elements and two ED Extra-low Dispersion glass elements to reduce aberrations and improve fine detail and sharpness.

Nano AR Coating II helps suppress flare, ghosting, and internal reflections, supporting better contrast and cleaner color reproduction in challenging lighting conditions.

Four XD Linear Motors drive the autofocus system with fast, accurate, and near-silent performance, making the lens suitable for still photography, video, and close-up subjects that require quick response.

Floating focus helps minimize aberrations at close focusing distances, while internal focusing keeps the overall lens length consistent throughout the focus range.
