Overview

Covering ultra-wide to wide-angle perspectives, the Tamron 17–28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD is a compact, fast zoom for Sony full-frame E-mount. The bright constant f/2.8 aperture improves low-light performance and depth-of-field control, while an optical design with XLD and LD elements delivers high clarity with reduced chromatic aberrations and color fringing. BBAR coatings suppress flare and ghosting for richer contrast in backlit scenes, and a fluorine-coated front element helps resist smudges.

Focusing is driven by an RXD stepping motor for quick, quiet AF that suits both stills and video, with full-time manual override. A close focusing distance of 19 cm (7.5") enables dynamic near-macro perspectives at 0.19× magnification.
