The Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM combines a highly versatile wide-angle focal length with an exceptionally bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, making it a go-to choice for landscapes, cityscapes, low-light work and cinematic storytelling. As part of Canon’s prestigious L-series, it delivers premium optical performance along with a rugged, weather-sealed build to meet professional demands.

Its sophisticated optical design incorporates two ultra-low dispersion (UD) elements to control chromatic aberrations and color fringing, plus two aspherical elements that minimize spherical aberrations and distortion. Together, they provide excellent sharpness and clarity from center to corners. A Sub Wavelength Coating (SWC) is applied to individual elements to reduce flare and ghosting, delivering higher contrast and more neutral color, even when shooting into strong light sources.

In terms of focusing performance, the lens uses a fast, quiet ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM) along with a floating internal focusing mechanism to maintain consistent image quality throughout the entire focusing range—from a minimum focus distance of just 25 cm (9.8") to infinity. Full-time manual focus override is also supported for precise fine-tuning.
