Canon EOS R8 — Full-Frame Mirrorless for Hybrid Creators
24.2MP Full-Frame • 4K60 10-bit (C-Log3/HDR-PQ) • Dual Pixel CMOS AF II • 40 fps e-shutter • Movie Digital IS • UVC/UAC streaming
Overview
Step up to full-frame with the lightweight EOS R8. Sharing its 24.2MP sensor with the EOS R6 Mark II and powered by DIGIC X, it delivers rich stills, oversampled UHD 4K60 10-bit video (from 6K readout), and rapid bursts up to 40 fps with the electronic shutter. Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II recognizes people, animals, and vehicles and focuses confidently down to −6.5 EV.
For creators, the R8 adds HDR-PQ or Canon Log 3, Vertical Movie mode with aspect markers, UVC/UAC webcam streaming, and a flexible set of I/O—including mic and headphone jacks, USB-C, micro-HDMI, and Canon’s next-gen Multi-Function Shoe. The 2.36m-dot OLED EVF (up to 120 Hz) and 3.0″ 1.62m-dot vari-angle touchscreen make composing easy from any angle.

Pro Tips
- For the cleanest 4K, use 4K 24/30p oversampled modes; switch to 60p when you need smoother motion.
- Shoot Canon Log 3 at low ISO for maximum grading latitude; use HDR-PQ for straight-to-HDR delivery.
- Enable Movie Digital IS when handheld; pair with RF IS lenses for best results.
- Use the Multi-Function Shoe with digital-audio accessories to reduce cables and power external mics from the camera.
- For streaming, connect via USB-C (UVC/UAC) to your computer and select the R8 as the webcam source.
