Sony FX3A Full-Frame Cinema Camera

The Sony FX3A is designed to deliver a professional cinematic shooting experience in a small, streamlined body. Its cage-free design allows compatible accessories to be mounted directly to the camera body or detachable top handle, reducing the need for an external cage in many production setups.

Powered by a 12.1MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor, the FX3A delivers strong low-light performance with an expanded ISO range of 80 to 409600, plus a wide dynamic range of more than 15 stops for flexible color grading in post-production.

The camera also includes a detachable professional audio handle with dual XLR/TRS combo inputs, up to 4-channel 24-bit audio recording, dual CFexpress Type A / SDXC card slots, and an internal cooling fan for stable long-duration recording.

Firmware v2.00 adds multiple features, including the BIG6 home screen for quickly reviewing shooting settings and equipment configurations, plus 1.5x and 1.6x magnification options in De-Squeeze Display.

It also supports Focus Magnifier and Auto Magnifier in MF settings while using Bright Monitoring, along with RAW video output via HDMI for Blackmagic RAW recording on compatible external recorders.

The update additionally enables automatic recognition of a separate USB-LAN conversion adapter, camera image filtering for smartphone and FTP transfers, and metadata recording for the optical density of pre-registered ND filters.

The camera also supports S-Log3, S-Log2, S-Gamut3, S-Gamut3.Cine, and HLG HDR, with 10-bit 4:2:2 recording to preserve rich gradation and greater flexibility in color correction.

AI-based algorithms help keep subjects in focus through Real-Time Tracking and Eye AF, making the FX3A especially practical for solo shooting, interviews, moving subjects, and documentary-style production.
